Establishing a platform for
developing high-speed computer vision solutions
Exvision Corporation (HQ: Tokyo, Japan; CEO: Akio Fujii) has announced the release of a high-speed computer vision platform that considerably simplifies the development of vision based solutions for a wide range of applications.
Exvision is a spin-off of the University of Tokyo’s Ishikawa-Watanabe Laboratory. Since 1989, the laboratory has developed countless applications for its computer vision research, with its unique high-speed approach drawing worldwide attention. The decades of research and development has culminated in the form of a Vision Chip that embodies the laboratory’s core high-speed vision philosophies. At ISSCC 2017 in San Francisco, a demo was held to illustrate the Vision Chip’s practical applications.
Exvision announced the following:
Exvision developed a high-speed computer vision system that detects and tracks moving objects at 1,000 frames per second and utilizes the data to control actuators in real time. A video of the demonstration performed at ISSCC 2017 may be viewed in the YouTube below.
Exvision is developing and releasing an SDK and evaluation boards (EVB) as a standardized high-speed computer vision platform that enables streamlined development of various vision based solutions.
